HexmosisHexagonal strategy game for Android
Magma-Sludge versus Neon-Goo: clone yourself across the board by mitosis, jump into gaps and assimilate whatever lands next to you. Hexmosis is quick to learn, hard to master – and runs entirely offline.
Features
06Clone, jump, assimilate
One move, two options: clone onto a neighbouring field – the piece splits, the original stays – or jump two fields and vacate the origin. Wherever you land, every enemy neighbour changes colour. The whole rule fits into three sentences; the depth comes by itself.
Three AI levels
Easy plays casually and makes the odd amusing mistake. Medium thinks tactically, grabs greedily and guards its flanks. Hard looks two moves ahead with minimax and alpha-beta search, weighing material, mobility and control of the edges.
Two players, one device
In local two-player mode you simply pass the phone around. Against the computer you pick your creature – Magma or Goo – and who starts: you, the computer or chance, drawn anew for every match.
Four boards
Classic (58), Arena Hex (61), Hourglass (49), Lucky Clover (36) – from the classic board with three voids to the small Lucky Clover for a quick round in between. The board scales to any aspect ratio.
Animated down to the cell wall
Clones pinch off in their direction, jumps fly in an arc, assimilations hit by energy beam, and the two creatures visibly morph into one another. When a player cannot move any more, the board is taken over before your eyes before the result appears.
Music and sounds of its own
Four music tracks from dreamy synth to e-piano jazz, plus separate voices for both creatures: Magma low and bubbling, Goo bright and squishy. Music and effects are set separately, and your choice is remembered.
What it looks like

The rules in 30 seconds
Both sides start with a few pieces in the corners. Whoever's turn it is taps one of their pieces and picks an empty target: next to it, and the piece splits while the original stays put, or two fields away, and it jumps, leaving its field empty. Every enemy piece around the target instantly becomes yours. When a player cannot move any more, all free fields go to the other – and whoever then has the most pieces wins.

Offline and fair
A board game needs no network and no account. Hexmosis therefore does without both – not as a setting, but in the build itself.
Offline, no exceptions
The game requests not a single Android permission – not even internet access. So it cannot open any connection at all, neither to us nor to anyone else. You can check this in your phone's app details and in the Play Store under “Permissions”.
Everything from the start
No shop, no energy waiting to be topped up, no full version. Every board, AI level and music track is unlocked from the first launch.
No data about you
No account, no sign-in, no analytics or crash reporting SDK. Exactly one thing is stored on the device: your volume levels and the chosen music track.
Made from scratch
Pieces, board, music and sounds were created specifically for the game, not bought together from asset shops. Only the foundation and the typeface come from elsewhere: the free Godot game engine (MIT licence) and Orbitron (SIL Open Font License). Both ship with the game; nothing is downloaded.
Privacy
In short: there is nothing to collect. Hexmosis requests not a single permission – not even internet access – and stores only your volume levels and the chosen music track on the device. What arises at Google through distribution via Google Play is covered, along with every detail, in the privacy policy of the app.
This website has a policy of its own – see Privacy for what happens when you merely visit this page.
Frequently asked
What does Hexmosis cost?
Nothing. There is no full version waiting to be unlocked – all 4 boards, all AI levels and all music tracks are there from the start.
Do I need an internet connection?
No, never. The game does not even have permission to open one. It plays exactly the same in flight mode, on the train and in a dead zone.
Can I play against friends?
Yes, two players on one device: in “2 players (local)” mode you take turns and pass the phone around. There is no play over the internet – which a game without network access could not offer anyway.
How strong is the computer?
That is up to you. “Easy” is meant for getting to know the game and gives something away now and then. “Medium” picks the move that gains the most right away and watches its flanks. “Hard” looks two moves ahead and is a real hurdle for newcomers.
Is my game saved?
No. A match takes a few minutes and starts afresh next time; only the volume levels and the music track are stored.
Which languages does the game support?
Deutsch and English – on a device set to German it starts in German, otherwise in English. Android 7.0 and later.
When will Hexmosis be out?
It is being prepared for Google Play. Once it is live, the button above leads straight to the store listing.
What does this have to do with rellit.de?
The same person behind it. rellit.de collects small tools that run in the browser – Hexmosis is a game for the phone, which is why it gets its own address here.
